The cabinet is built from some very unique wood.It was a storm fallen wild apple tree that grew on our fence line. The tree was about 80 years old.I carefully air dried the wood for three years. The project is almost completely constructed from the 8/4 slab from the centre of the log.The cabinet is thus almost all made from quarter sawn material. The exception is the door panels which is flat sawn material from the butt flares of the log.The wood is very rich in figure and colour.Apple typically has a strong contrast between heart and sapwood. The panel in the back is constructed of curly spalted sugar maple.Pulls are rosewood. The cabinet has one adjustable glass self.Height 60 inches width 22 inches depth 10.5 inches
